A document providing the required welding variables for a specific application to assure repeatability by properly trained welders and welding operators.
A WPS document contains all of the instructions required to produce a weldment. Standards such as ANSYAWS B2.1, Specification for Welding Procedure and Peflormance Qualification; ANSIJAWS D1.1, Structural Welding Code-Steel; ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and others specify the welding variables that are required to be addressed on the WPS.
