PHOTOMICROGRAPH

PHOTOMICROGRAPH

A photographic reproduction of an object magnified more than ten times. In metallurgy, it usually refers to a polished and etched metal surface photographed
through a microscope to show the grain structure and other microstructural constituents. As an example, photomicrographs are made of sections cut from a weld or a piece of metal to show the metallurgical structure. See METALLOGRAPHY.
