The flame produced by combustion of a mixture of one volume of oxygen and two volumes of hydrogen. If the flame is to be used for welding, the proportion should be one volume of oxygen to four volumes of hydrogen to prevent oxidation of the metal. The temperature of the flame is about 2660°C (4820°F). The relatively low heat content of the oxyhydrogen flame restricts its use to certain torch brazing operations and

to welding of aluminum, magnesium and lead.
