A neutral flame is obtained by burning a mixture of approximately 50% acetylene and 50% oxygen; it is a well balanced flame indicating complete combustion. The cone next to the tip is white hot and beyond it is a long blue streamer. The molten metal produced in welding with a neutral flame is quiet and clean, and flows well. Few sparks are produced.
