Gas pressure can be expressed as gauge pressure, the pressure above atmospheric pressure, or as absolute pressure, the gauge pressure plus the atmospheric pressure. For welding applications, pressure is measured in kilopascals, (kPa) or in pounds force per
square inch, (psi).
