A committee of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) organized to formulate rules for the construction of steam boilers and other pressure vessels. This committee has one subcommittee for welding. The ASME maintains a Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and a Code for Pressure Piping. The first ASME Boiler Code Committee was appointed on September 15, 1911.
