Simplifying procurement for supply chain teams

Indigenous Procurement Partner

WeldCor Supplies has completed a structural change and is now an Indigenous Supply Partner.

This allows our customers to include WeldCor as part of their Indigenous procurement and supplier diversity initiatives, while continuing to rely on the same products, inventory, and technical support.

Working with WeldCor can support:

Indigenous procurement targets

Supplier diversity requirements

ESG and reporting objectives

We understand that procurement teams need clarity and documentation. Our team can provide the information required to support your internal qualification and reporting processes.

Meet Mavis Poundmaker

"I’m excited about this opportunity to help build bridges with First Nations Communities.  I plan to expand on existing relationships and strengthening connections in a meaningful and lasting way.  Indigenous Peoples are recognizing the relevance of having our seat at the table when it comes to big projects in every industry.  Respectful dialogue and listening to ensure that relationships that are built are grounded in trust and beneficial in the long-term. As my great great grandfather Chief Poundmaker once said “We cannot just sit by the trail”….I believe that First Nation’s People are ready to be trailblazers!"

Mavis Poundmaker Business Partner & Indigenous Liaison

We are honoured to work alongside Mavis Poundmaker of the Poundmaker Cree Nation as our business partner and Indigenous Liaison.

Mavis is the great-great-granddaughter of Chief Poundmaker, a respected Cree leader whose legacy of leadership, diplomacy, and justice remains significant in conversations around reconciliation in Canada.

She brings valuable experience in cultural preservation, including work supporting the repatriation of Indigenous artifacts to their home Nations and communities.

In her role with WeldCor, Mavis guides the development of respectful, long-term relationships with Indigenous Nations and Bands across the regions we serve.

Her leadership supports our ongoing commitment to listening, learning, and building accountable partnerships grounded in respect.

This appointment reflects our intention to align with the spirit of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, particularly those that encourage meaningful economic relationships and recognition of Indigenous rights and self-determination.

Ongoing Updates

2026 Indigenous Trailblazers Summit, May 5 & 6

WeldCor Supplies was proud to be a Bear level sponsor of the 2026 Indigenous Trailblazers Summit at the Edmonton Convention Centre.

Saskatchewan First Nations Energy & Natural Resources Forum, May 26-28

The Saskatchewan First Nations Energy & Natural Resources Forum & Youth Summit was a great opportunity to connect with industry, Indigenous communities, and government around building stronger, long-term partnerships. A highlight at our booth was the welding simulator, generously provided by Lincoln Electric, which drew everyone from students to experienced welders.
