Training is essential to the production of quality welds and weldments in all processes. The American Welding Society offers materials for use in training courses for welding personnel.
AWS document EG2.0, Guidefor the Training and Qualification of Welding Personnel: Entry Level Welder, provides a complete curriculum for training welders to Entry Level (Level I) requirements. The curriculum is based on a needs analysis from 800 responses to a survey conducted in the United States. AWS/ANSI EG3 .O and EG4.0 cover qualifications for Level I1(Advanced) welders and Level I11 (Expert) welders, respectively. These documents are available from the American Welding Society.
